Senator Telo Taitague's Work

Ask Questions. Raise Concerns.

Hafa Adai Friends,

I’d like to take a moment to commend the individuals and organizations throughout out Guam who joined together to voice their concerns and opinions regarding the draft Environmental Impact Statement for the upcoming military buildup.

As a citizen of Guam and a Guamanian with much pride in the island we call home, I have to say I was amazed by the passion displayed by organizations led by our young people like We are Guåhan. These individuals and all those who stood before the crowd to share their concerns about the military buildup should inspire us all to take a more active role in our community.

Today we have an opportunity to participate in this critical process so that we will understand what is happening right now, what will happen in the future and how it will affect our community, our island and future generations.

We must demonstrate our solidarity with every voice we have. I urge all our island residents to read up on the military buildup literature. Know the facts. Ask questions. Raise concerns.

We are all in this together and we must take a stand.

Si Yu’os Ma’ase,
Senator Telo
